About the Role
The Business Intelligence Engineer I will join Amazon’s GO-AI team, which remotely manages exceptions in robotic fulfillment centers globally. You’ll work on projects where human cognitive abilities complement machine vision and automated decision-making technologies. Your role will involve utilizing big data to answer critical business questions and developing analytics solutions to support global operations.
Key Responsibilities
Here’s what you’ll do:
1. Data Infrastructure Development
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders like HITL Operations, PMO, ACES, and R&D Insights to develop solutions that meet GO-AI objectives.
Maintain, refine, and improve ETL processes and data structures using schema definition languages like DDL, SDL, and XSD.
2. Data Visualization & Analytics
Use industry-standard tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, Excel, or PowerBI to create actionable dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
Apply statistical methods like regression and Chi-squared analysis to derive insights that drive business decisions.
3. Business Intelligence Solutions
Build and deliver BI solutions that answer straightforward business questions and incorporate best practices in data management.
Develop advanced Python-based forecasting models to predict critical metrics with a high degree of accuracy.
4. Troubleshooting & Process Optimization
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with peer BIEs and other team members.
Participate in team discussions to design, scope, and prioritize projects.
Automate manual processes to improve operational efficiency.
5. Stakeholder Management
Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams to ensure alignment and clear communication of insights.
About the GO-AI Team
Amazon’s Global Operations - Artificial Intelligence (GO-AI) team handles exceptions in robotic fulfillment centers by providing remote human support for tasks requiring higher cognitive ability. Their mission is to complement automated decision-making with human judgment to ensure exceptional customer experiences. The team operates multiple high-impact programs, including Nike IDS, Proteus, and Sparrow, partnering with global technology and operations teams to scale innovations.
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of experience with databases like Redshift, Oracle, or NoSQL.
Proficiency in visualization tools like Tableau, Excel, or QuickSight.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Java, or R.
Familiarity with statistical methods like regression analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or advanced technical degree in a relevant field.
Expertise in statistical and correlation analysis.
